This post is for my Memphis friends (and anyone who will be visiting the Bluff City!). Slider Inn, a very vegan-friendly bar with Midtown and Downtown locations, is now officially even more vegan-friendly.
Last week, my friend Melissa sent a Facebook message to our little vegan friend group because she was at Slider Inn and spotted a new menu item — the No Beef, No Problem Sliders. Of course, I had to try them the very next day!
They use Hungry Planet plant-based patties and vegan cheddar slices for these, and they taste like perfection. I loved how meaty the HP patties were. I'd seen the brand on sale at Sprouts but never tried them until this past weekend.
Pro tip: If you're ordering fries (and you should because Slider has the best fries), order a side of vegan ranch for dipping. And tell your server to leave the bourbon mayo off your order because it looks suspiciously like the vegan ranch. I've definitely dipped into the mayo before thinking it was ranch.
Since Slider Inn added these new sliders, they now have five vegan main menu items. There's also the Vegan Triple B veggie burger sliders (homemade patties made with beets, beans, and brown rice), the Falafel Sliders (which are vegan if you order without tzatziki), the Nuts & Berries Sliders (PB&J), and the Tofu Wings (tofu and cauliflower wings with vegan ranch).
