Stay tuned at the end of this post for an awesome giveaway!
Last night, I posted pictures of my sweet haul from Vegan Essentials, courtesy of Mama and Papa Crunk. But I deliberately left out the two favorite items in my latest order. I saved the best for last. I may be the last vegan in the world to try Daiya Cheese, and I'm honestly not sure what I was waiting for. Here's my first pack of Daiya Italian Cheese Shreds:
And here's my Daiya gettin' all melty-melty on a slice of Vegan Supreme Pizza:
This stuff is rad. It's way meltier than Teese and tastes way more authentic. In fact, this may be the best-tasting/best-melting vegan cheese I've tried (still haven't tried Cheezly). It was perfect atop this whole wheat crust with homemade tomato sauce, Gimme Lean vegan sausage, bell peppers, black olives, and red onions.
Here's an extreme close-up shot to prove just how melty this stuff really is:
My pizza was seriously amazing, but nothing could top these Vegan Donuts from Larsen's Bakery:
These fresh-baked cuties are available on Vegan Essentials, and they come un-iced to ensure freshness. There's 11 donuts in a box, with the extra space reserved for a tub of sweet, sweet white icing. They freeze wonderfully, so no stress if you can't eat 11 donuts before they go stale (but seriously, if you can't do that, something is wrong with you). Oh, and they're yeasted donuts! That means they're more like Krispy Kreme than Little Debbie. Hells yea.
Here's one that I warmed in the oven, messy iced, decorated with sprinkles, and shoved in my mouth:
Now for the fun part: My daddy (a.k.a. Papa Crunk) called me today and asked if I'd be interested in giving away a $25 gift certificate to one lucky random reader for Valentine's Day. He's paying the tab because he's just awesome like that. So you can order donuts, Daiya, Go Max Go bars, whatever tickles your fancy.
Here's how to enter: Leave a comment on this post letting me know what vegan product(s) you have to order (or would like to order) online because they're not available where you live. If you live in a vegan mecca, like Portland, where everything is available, just mention a product that you can't live without.
For extra entries, tweet a link to this contest on Twitter and leave another comment letting me know you tweeted (or twatted or whatever you call that). You can also post a link on Facebook and leave yet another comment for a max number of three entries per reader.
I'll leave the contest open until Wednesday, February 10th at 10 p.m. CST. A winner will be announced in next Thursday night's post. If your comment doesn't link back to a blog, please leave your email address in your comment (you can write it like this — name[at]whatever[dot]com — to avoid spammers). Your email will be required to send an e-gift certificate from Vegan Essentials.
Happy Contesting!

New vegan in New Orleans, and as you know- it's pretty meaty around these parts! I would love to check out some Daiya since our local Whole Foods does not carry it (lame!).
Thanks Papa Crunk!
I would LOVE to try Daiya and some of those Go Max Go candy bars. We don't have either in Denver yet.
Please send me Daiya shredded cheddar, please! And some of those donuts, too! (I haven't had a donut in four years!) And toss in a couple of those Joker vegan candy bars! Thanks, Bianca! Thanks for offering such a treat to us readers! :)
Oh, I would def buy candy bars out the yin yang!!
I just happened to stumble across your blog as I was looking up vegan info. I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for almost 15 yrs and am thinking more and more about going vegan. Your site will definitely help me!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and great looking recipes!
This is amazing! I absolutely need to try some Daiya cheeses and there's absolutely no where even remotely close to where I live that sells it! I am dying to make some vegan pizza and I am just desperately missing that melty gooey-ness on top!
I'd love to be able to order vegan croissants! Specifically pain au chocolat - I have some in my freezer from a trip to Paris that I'm working thru slowly. We can easily find conventional baked goods online or in stores but french pastries are elusive.

You're not the last vegan in the world, I haven't tried Daiya yet either (the health food stores around here don't carry it yet.) bummer!
That pizza! It looks so gooey and decadent.
I think I'd order some of that yummy stuff if I won your giveaway.
P.S. You're too sweet, Papa Crunk!
I'd really love some xanthan gum, for making ice cream, and curry powder, for making curry. I'd also like to try vegan marshmallows.

fer sure the peanut butter truffles,
umm...wait,
no the donuts.
I would really love to order some Daiya. I can't get it where I live, and would like try some.
Oh, and I can't forget about vegan marshmallows, I'd order a bag of those too.
I NEED DAIYA. :)
i'm addicted to Dr. Cow Nut Cheese!
IT'S SO AMAZINGLY GOOD! but i only can order it online. I live in wisconsin so i'm surrounded by people munching on dairy products -- the one thing i miss the most being vegan is cheese, even though it makes me really sick when i eat it, haha.
seriously though - Dr. Cow Nut Cheese (aged cashew) is so freaking good...
ahh soo many things! cheeses, bars, seeds, u name it!
Mmmm...as I have just made it through my first month of being a vegan, I'd love to get my hands on some Daiya so I can make my own vegan mushroom and 'pepperoni' pizza. Most likely my cart would end up with some unflavored jel so I can make homemade gummy candies, and some Dr. Cows cheese to eat with wheat crackers. If I still had some money left over after buying all the yummy food, I'd probably spring for some Blum Naturals towelettes for when I'm too lazy to wash my face before bed.
I live in McAllen Texas, there's nothing here!!! Please! I need to taste all the yummy vegan food you bloggers are always talking about. We only have soymilk and that's pretty much it haha.
love your blog
Daiya cheese would certainly top my list.. I keep waiting for the day to spot it on the shelves at my Whole Foods!
I've been vegan now for about 2 months and have heard great things about Daiya cheeses. I'd love to win since where I live there's not many vegan friendly places to shop for food. thanks : )

I'm lucky enough to be living in Southern California with great access to fresh produce and vegan products. Luckily, my local whole foods carries Daiya cheeses. Now that I've tried it, no other cheese substitute really compares.
I have never ordered anything from Vegan Essentials before but the I have two things I want to try Dr. Cow, and Daiya cheese more then anything!!
I would love to win this gift card!
Sophia,

Wow, your dad is the best! What a generous guy. If I won I'd definitely get some Tings and Daiya.
Honestly, I would probably buy all sorts of vegan cheezes to try them all out. I've been wanting to try We Can’t Say It’s Cheese Spreads as I've heard they're pretty tasty.
I would get some Daiya or Teese. Neither of them are available here and I'm dying to try them!
I would L-O-V-E daiya cheese
I have practically no access to vegan things where I live, but I'll admit I'd probably skip right by some of the more practical things and try those peanut butter cups and "Snickers" like candy bars! Yum!
As you probably remember from my blog, I am always yacking about how I can't get soy creamer. I would love to order a huge haulofo coffee supplies. I love Vegan Essentials!!!
I've always checked out Vegan Essentials but never went through with ordering anything, because I have NO idea where to start. I would love to try the Dr.Cow nut cheeses and Daiya, some of the stuff from cakewalk baking co, etc etc. I want to get all the funky vegan jazz that isn't available here, like Dandies!!
I guess I just want to get stuff to play kitchen with (O:
I absolutely love Macaroni and ChReese! Unfortunately the only store around me that carries it is 50 minutes away, and I don't have the resources (food processor) to make my own cheese sauce. So it's a rare treat.
Would love to be entered. I am obsessed with Daiya cheese. Thank you!
Since I moved from NYC to Toronto, I haven't ordered from Vegan Essentials and I miss the Ricemellow Creme and Dandies are pretty amazing!
vegan donuts!!! I'm losing my mind!!!!
laurie@twotrick.com
I'd definitely like to try the Daiya cheese shreds!
I would love to try Daiya! Those doughnuts look pretty darn tasty too!
We live in a town where eating out means we're stuck with a veggie burger if we're lucky, and a few food shops carry some vegan stuff, sometimes. So what would I order? Everything! But for $25 - Dr. Cow Cheese and some Soy Butler Curls, both of which I've never seen anyway near here!
You have an awesome dad! He is really sweet. I would also do that to my daughter. That daiya cheese looks so yummy!! Also the donuts, I love love donuts! They would go great with a fresh cup of espresso coffee Thanks for sharing this post to us!
