Vegan Sandwiches at Curb Market Deli!

The Curb Market, the grocery store inside Crosstown Concourse, just opened a new deli, and they have TWO vegan sandwiches! The Curb is a small grocery with a large selection of locally made food items (like Dave's Bagels and Imagine Vegan Cafe's bottled ranch), locally grown produce, beer/wine, some commercially available items (like Amy's frozen meals and Justin's nut butters), a popular hot bar, and this new deli!

The hot bar occasionally has some vegan items, but the addition of the vegan sandwiches (both made with smoked-in-house tofu) really steps up Curb's game. All of the sandwiches are named after Crosstown neighborhood streets. My favorite sandwich is The Watkins, made with smoked BBQ tofu, vinegar slaw, and onion straws and served on a seeded roll. Every bite of this sandwich is bursting with flavor, and I love the crunch from the onion straws.

The other vegan sandwich is The Evergreen, and it's always delicious. It has smoked tofu, vegan tzatziki, hummus, avocado, cucumber, and tomato on a hoagie bun. The buns are baked at Lucy J's Bakery, just down the hall from Curb Market. Could it get any more local than that?

This is a substantial sandwich, and I don't really even need a side to make it a meal. But they do offer vegan sides of cucumber salad or chips if you need one. I also love to check out the hot bar for potential side dish options. Sometimes, they'll have a veggie stir-fry on the bar!

I want both sandwiches!!! I love smoked tofu so, so much, and adding bbq sauce and vinegary slaw is brilliant!
