Millie's Savory Tea Giveaway!

A few weeks ago, I posted about my newfound love for savory tea. I discovered Millie's Savory Teas — green tea combined with veggies, herbs, and spices in a tea bag — at Seattle VegFest in March. And then I immediately ordered the Five Flavor Snack Pack from their website when I returned home.

This stuff is great for when you're between meals and just can't justify eating another snack. Since I work at a desk all day, I tend to want something to drink or nibble on throughout the day, and this stuff keeps me from eating too many nuts, crackers, or other higher calorie snacks.

And it comes in great flavors! There's curry-infused Indian Spice, tangy Tomato Basil, Mexican-inspired Spicy Tortilla, crisp Thai Lemongrass, and Smoky Facon (vegan bacon flavor!). After I posted my review in April, the makers of Millie's Savory Tea asked me if I'd like to host a giveaway for my readers. And of course I said yes!

They want to give way five 15-tea snack packs. Leave a comment here letting me know your favorite afternoon pick-me-up. I'll randomly choose five winners on Monday! Be sure to include your email address (unless you know I have another way to contact you, like through your blog or Blogger profile). Also, I'd like to keep the giveaway in the U.S. only since Millie's will mailing out the teas.

  1. I've been enjoying grape tomatoes, cucumbers and basil drizzled with high quality balsamic. I drink tea all day and would love to try some savory!

  2. On the off chance you are posting outside the US, my favourite afternoon pick me up, especially during the colder months, is a bowl of hot oats. At work during winter everyone knows that about 4pm is oat o'clock on the Susan clock.

  3. Oh my gosh! After reading your review I am so excited for this giveaway! Besides tea, I have also been known to take afternoon dark chocolate breaks :-)

  4. Soup is my go to this winter was horrific it was in the negative for weeks at a time it even snowed today (may 15th.. oi) so I found myself having soup for breakfast most days and again in the after noon, some days I had a couple pots in my fridge and it was a all day soup-a-thon. So these teas sound amazing to me I actually planned to play around and see if I couldn't make my own using dehydrated veggies from the garden.

  6. I am not a snacker and usually only eat once a day for a meal. I just don't get hungry much. But a hot cup of tea or even iced tea is my go to always thing. If I feel the need for a snack, I usually stick a spoon in a jar of peanut butter and let it stick to the roof of my mouth.

  7. I like to come home and have a pb and j or toast.

  8. We have a dining room at work where i eat a full(vegan) lunch, with a fruity option for dessert, so i usually just grab an apple, banana or clementine and eat it later, but i cannot resist that savoury, ring-shaped cookie when a bag of them cracks open...

  11. A quick bowl of miso soup is my go-to snack, usually with a cup of hot ginger tea, if I feel like being good. Otherwise, it's a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter.

  12. This is so great! I'm a software engineer and spend a lot of time at my desk, and love having things to nibble on. Recently, with all the Vega bar BOGO sales, I've really been loving their Vibrancy and Protein bars as snacks!

  13. I ordered one of the snack packs after your review, and it has been so great to drink while I make dinner! Often by the time I make dinner, I'm already hungry, and so it's hard to have patience and enjoy myself. The tea sates my hunger without making me too full for dinner. I'm working my way through it fast, and so it would be great to win your giveaway!

My favorite afternoon snacks: a banana with a handful of peanuts, a couple of dolmas, or roasted chickpeas.

  14. Oh, I wanted to mention too that the tea is also great for deglazing pans while cooking! Last night I was making a tofu scramble for dinner while drinking the Tomato Basil tea, and whenever the scramble bits would start to stick, I just added splashes of the broth tea. I usually use water for deglazing, but the tea has more flavor and was already there.

  47. I love the idea of these and would LOVE to try them. In the afternoons when I work at home I often have a cup of veggie broth with a splash of chalulah hot sauce. These would be a great replacement when I'm working "on site" and can't get to the broth! I replace it with green juice sometimes, but yeah, after a while, the sweet gets to me. I end up craving the savory!
