I agree, the country fried steak needs to have it's secrets revealed, it's the best dish on the menu (well, aside from the Peanut Butter Puck on the dessert menu).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05454812644208267881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364183667091630765.post-32431950153627608382014-03-15T21:06:33.060-05:002014-03-15T21:06:33.060-05:00Looks awesome :)Looks awesome :)Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15161387571300135067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364183667091630765.post-89867988025829768752014-03-15T08:46:43.263-05:002014-03-15T08:46:43.263-05:00I love it that you plan your vacations around vega...I love it that you plan your vacations around vegan restaurants. That is definitely me too. When I'm planning a trip, people always ask, "What are you going to do while you're there?" I always feel like I need to do a quick Google search first of museums/shows/landmarks. Otherwise, it can feel a little silly giving a rundown of various sandwiches I want to eat while I'm there...

That said, I LOVE that sandwich. It's hard for me to go to Chicago Diner and not order it. I'm in Chicago several times a year, because it's only 3-4 hours away from where I live. So it's an easy place to visit for a weekend trip, and David is often sent there for work. But even so, it's still a huge treat to get that amazing reuben.

I received the Chicago Diner cookbook for review too, and I need to get on it! I put it on the calendar, and so hopefully I'll get to it this month. Lots of good stuff to try!

(Oh, and I saw on the PPK that partially-frozen seitan is easier to slice very thin. I think Tamasin was the one who recommended that.)Cadry's Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05019006252875213755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364183667091630765.post-20326849358886992162014-03-14T13:10:29.613-05:002014-03-14T13:10:29.613-05:00I love it when you can recreate your favorite rest...I love it when you can recreate your favorite restaurant meals at home! Both versions look so amazing and it sounds like they have tons of great recipes in the book! I'm not going to lie, I love the name Black Rainbow Unicorn. And I also love grenadine and cherries :)Sarah https://www.blogger.com/profile/11492583565520188461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364183667091630765.post-1085496518540607022014-03-14T08:18:32.844-05:002014-03-14T08:18:32.844-05:00The new Chicago Diner cookbook looks great.
